It’s cosy season, and there is no better time to settle into a good story. This autumn, we have a fantastic lineup to transport you to new worlds, from a classic whodunnit to spoken word, comedy, music, and dance.

Sherlock Holmes and the Hunt for Moriarty | 6 – 8 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse 

Drawn into the game and unsure who to trust, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find themselves confronting figures from their past in a desperate race against time. This thrilling adventure, based on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, combines powerful performances, a haunting soundscape and innovative design.

Gecko: An evening of story songs | 10 Oct | Norwich Theatre Stage Two 

Gecko is a singer-storyteller based in South London. His songs cover the big things in life with wit and warmth. From deep time to ignored characters in Renaissance paintings, from pig fugitives to Duolingo streaks. Gecko’s songs have caused a stir on TikTok & Instagram, receiving millions of views and hardly any mean comments.

Revenge: After The Levoyah | 26 Oct | Norwich Theatre Stage Two 

Malcolm Spivak’s had enough. He corners twins Dan and Lauren, fresh from their grandfather’s funeral, with a proposition: help him kidnap Jeremy Corbyn. Yes, really. What follows is a chaotic Jewish heist comedy that blends madcap comedy and biting political satire.

Matt | 30 Oct | Norwich Theatre Stage Two 

Based on the real-life story of writer, director and lead actor Peter Dewar, MATT  is a raw, real, and thought-provoking journey through depression, addiction, and the fight to survive. It dives headfirst into the darkness — unflinching, emotionally charged, and painfully honest. But this is more than just Matt’s story. It’s also about the devastating impact mental illness can have on the people who love him.

HALF MAN || HALF BULL a REWRITES production | 5 – 6 Nov | Norwich Theatre Stage Two 

A reimaging of two myths – the adrenaline-fuelled Theseus & The Minotaur and the heartrending Deadalus & Icarus.  Two stories, two gigs – two tales of escaping things and proving things. This epic theatrical double album, full of virtuosic spoken word and soaring live music, tells a story in two halves.

The magic of Merlin bursts onto the stage with Northern Ballet’s signature blend of world-class dance and storytelling. Discover how the world’s most famous sorcerer mastered his powers in the epic adventure you’ve been waiting for. 

David Oulusoga | 16 Nov | Norwich Theatre Royal 

Known for his acclaimed documentaries Black and British: A Forgotten History and A House Through Time, David Olusoga offers remarkable storytelling in this powerful, unexpected and enlightening social narrative. Join David as he uncovers the story of three firearms that changed the world and the lives of our ancestors. 

Inspector Morse: House of Ghosts | 18 – 22 Nov | Norwich Theatre Royal 

A chilling mystery unfolds when a young actress suddenly dies on stage during a performance, and Detective Chief Inspector Morse embarks on a gripping investigation. What begins as a suspicious death inquiry takes a darker turn when the legendary inspector, together with DS Lewis, uncovers a connection to sinister events in his own past, twenty-five years earlier.

The Chaos That Has Been and Will No Doubt Return | 25 – 26 Nov | Norwich Theatre Playhouse 

Set over one chaotic night, the play follows two best friends as they chase the highs of youth against a backdrop of systemic neglect. Painting a tapestry of violence and joy, it is a raw, real-time collision of friendship and survival. Told with biting wit and lyrical intensity, this production is a powerful exploration of class and identity, with a cracking house party that pulses around the corner.
