The Pantaloons Present: The Merry Wives of Windsor | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 30 Sep
Shakespeare’s favourite foolish knight, Sir John Falstaff, has fallen on hard times. He tries to seduce the wives of two wealthy merchants in an attempt to fix his finances, but they are smart to his wily ways. A series of hilarious pranks are pulled on Falstaff by the ladies, making him more of a fool. There will be music, silliness and slapstick aplenty in this memorable rendition of a Shakespeare classic.
Black is the Color of My Voice | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 5 – 6 Oct
Inspired by Nina Simone’s life, the show follows a successful singer and civil rights activist as she seeks redemption after the untimely death of her father. The show is filled with rich vocals and powerful scenes, reflecting on the journey that took her from a young piano prodigy destined for a life in the service of the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement.
The Brief Life and Mysterious Death of Boris III King of Bulgaria | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 21 – 22 Oct
Set in 1943 Bulgaria, King Boris III faces a dilemma whilst the European powerhouses are at war during World War II, all whilst a selection of underdogs use every trick in the book to outwit the Nazis and save nearly 50,000 Jewish lives. Set to a unique folk music soundtrack, this is set to be a raucous, knee-slapping piece of theatre!
The Windrush Secret | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 31 Oct
In this one-man show, Rodreguez King-Dorset explores the story of three individuals who are giving speeches on the same day in different locations, all about those who migrated from the Caribbean to Britain between 1948 and 1973. One is a young white far-right racist party leader, another a black Caribbean diplomat and the other a white Oxford-educated Home Office government official. But who has a dark and life-changing secret that he struggles to come to terms with? Come along and find out in this tender and deeply moving production.

Adapted from Sebastian Faulk’s best-selling novel, Birdsong is an epic story of love and loss. Immerse yourself in pre-war France, where a young Englishman falls into a dangerous love affair with the mesmerising Isabelle, turning both of their worlds’ upside down. As war breaks out, you’ll be absorbed in their world of battle, courage and secrets. Starring Max Bowden, best known for the role of Ben Mitchell in EastEnders, as Stephen, this is set to be a powerful performance that poses the question: How far would you go for love?
