This summer, Norwich Theatre is your ultimate destination for creativity, imagination, and fun! The school holidays are packed with an exciting range of activities designed to spark new interests, build confidence, and make new friends. From immersive theatre-making masterclasses to laugh-out-loud shows and hands-on creative workshops, there’s something for every family to explore.  Norwich Theatre’s new Summer Holiday Club (18 – 22 Aug) is five fun-filled days of theatre-making. Designed for children in two age groups, 7-10 and 11-13, each day will bring the opportunity to try out new skills in a real working theatre.

Get hands-on with lighting and sound equipment, designing sets and costumes, and fun movement and drama activities. Expect a host of fun games, special backstage tours, and creative exercises, all designed to spark their imagination and provide loads of fun. No prior theatre experience is needed. The focus is on having fun and getting creative. The Summer Holiday Club can be paid in instalments, and bursary places are available to ensure that everyone has the chance to participate.

Norwich Theatre’s Free for Families Creative Families programme, free and affordable, continues this summer with Aseop’s Fables (17 and 23 Aug). Small Nose Theatre Company will be turning classic tales like The Boy Who Cried Wolf and The Tortoise and the Hare into a hilarious adventure that will have the whole family rolling with laughter! Expect a whirlwind of fun, silly antics, catchy songs, and delightful surprises that will keep you on your toes. This show is suitable for children aged seven and above and their grown-ups and is free to attend; however, booking is required.

Why not head to the Aesop’s Fables: Family Workshop (17 Aug) before the show? The workshop will be a lively, game-filled workshop where you’ll help bring the enchanting world of Aesop’s classic tales to life. Armed with clown games, half masks, and a sprinkle of cardboard magic, you’ll dive into a delightful hour of laughter and creativity. Perfect for children aged seven and up and their grown-ups. This session is free to attend.

Come along to Norwich Theatre every Friday in August for Imagination Fuel (1 – 29 Aug). These free creative workshops are an amazing way for families to connect and get creative together. You’ll play engaging games, take part in a range of exciting activities, and simply enjoy some quality creative time as a family. These sessions are designed for children aged 6-10 and their grown-ups to try something new. Lunch for your little ones will be provided.

Sam Beal Creative Engagement & Audiences Manager: “We believe that everyone should have access to the incredible benefits of getting creative. Our Creative Families programme is designed to allow families to enjoy getting creative together without the added worry of cost. We are hugely grateful for the support we have received to make this happen.”

Free for Families and Creative Families is made possible thanks to the support of the Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust, the Simon Gibson Charitable Trust, The Educational Foundation of Alderman John Norman and The Geoffrey Watling Charity.
