Norwich is a city filled with stories. Join our community of Citizen Theatre Makers this summer to create a bold new production in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Citizen Theatre Makers: Women in Shakespeare

Inspired by the women in Hamlet, this project invites you to immerse yourself in an experimental approach to the work of Shakespeare and its enduring relevance to the world around us. Reclaim and reimagine the roles of Ophelia and Gertrude through a contemporary lens. No previous experience is necessary.

Women in Shakespeare is part of our Creative Ageing programme, intended for people over 50.

As part of an ensemble, you’ll be inspired by Hamlet, one of Shakespeare’s most renowned plays, and bring the stories of our city to life through movement, song, written and spoken word.

Shakespeare is for everyone, everyone is welcome.

Citizen Theatre Maker groups are free to attend but due to limited capacity, please select only one group to join at this stage.

This project is free to access for anyone over 18, in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company, supported by Esmee Fairbairn and Arts Council England
