The wonderful world of Jacqueline Wilson

Jaqueline Wilson is back for Norwich Book Festival 2026, this time at Norwich Theatre Playhouse! Don’t miss your chance to see this bestselling author, former Children’s Laureate, and icon of children’s literature.

Jacqueline Wilson’s books have shaped generations of young readers, redefining what children’s literature can address and bringing complex issues— such as family breakdown, mental health, poverty, and identity. Giving a voice to young people who often feel unseen, offering recognition and reassurance.

In this event, we’ll delve into the wonderful world of Jacqueline Wilson, where she’ll talk about her stories, her process and life as a writer – she wrote her first ‘novel’ when she was nine years old! The audience will be treated to readings from her latest book, Esme Pepper – a story, which is equal parts funny and touching – about the resilience of Esme, who has to navigate going into foster care, as well as a new school and class bully.

Suitable for families with children aged 8+.

Please note Jacqueline Wilson will not be signing books after this event.
