This is a FREE workshop for ticket holders of Lay Down Your Burdens.
Choreographer Rhiannon Faith makes socially conscious work that raises awareness and lobbies for change. Lay Down Your Burdens was grown out of conversations with communities, and developed from real-life experiences of the company. Their work gives you space to consider the meaning and importance of community.
Join us for a 90-minute workshop the night before you come to the show, providing a special opportunity to enter the world of Lay Down Your Burdens.
Meet the characters and dive deep into the show’s themes of community, connection and the burdens we all carry. Led by dancers and musicians from the show, we will do a bit of creative writing, listen to some beautiful live music, and maybe do some moving; exploring personal experiences of the things that are hard to carry, and how we care for one another.
The workshop is a gentle invitation to come together and lighten the load by carrying it collectively.
This workshop is open to all show performance ticket holders, and no prior experience is required.
Participant feedback from Oxford Playhouse:
“What I took away was a feeling of gratitude for sharing a space with a group of talented, creative, kind people.” “Thank you for this opportunity – it was brilliant!” “Excellent words, music and dance” “A wonderful experience.”
