After two completely sold-out performances last year, MATT returns by popular demand — now touring venues across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Based on the real-life story of writer, director and lead actor Peter Dewar, MATT  is a raw, real, and thought-provoking journey through depression, addiction, and the fight to survive. It dives headfirst into the darkness — unflinching, emotionally charged, and painfully honest.

But this is more than just Matt’s story. It’s also about the devastating impact mental illness can have on the people who love him — the partner left in silence, the parents consumed by fear and helplessness.

Praised as “brutally honest,” “a masterpiece of resilience,” and “unforgettable,” MATT  is a powerful, emotional, and ultimately hopeful piece of theatre that dares to speak the truth.

One night. One fight. One story that stays with you.
Last year’s tickets sold out fast — book now to avoid missing out.

Reviews

This show was more than theatre—it was an experience.”

“It opened my eyes in ways I never expected.”

“I felt seen, understood, and inspired to talk about mental health.

“This production is one of the most effective tools I’ve seen for encouraging people to speak about mental health. The combination of storytelling and lived experience makes it profoundly relatable. Several audience members reached out for support afterward, proving how vital this work is.”

“The audience’s response was overwhelming. People were crying, nodding in agreement, and staying behind to share their stories. The fact that theatre can create that level of emotional connection speaks volumes about the power of this production.”

“I have never seen a performance resonate so deeply with students. The storytelling was raw, powerful, and incredibly necessary. It was a safe space for young people to reflect on their own experiences and break the stigma surrounding mental health.”

“I have never sat in a theatre and felt so seen. This wasn’t just a play – it was a mirror held up to the parts of life we’re too afraid to talk about. Raw, honest, heartbreaking and yet filled with hope. Everyone should experience this.”

“I walked in expecting a performance, but I walked out changed. It made me think of my own struggles, my friends, my family. It’s theatre like this that saves lives – not with answers, but with truth and connection.”

“Absolutely breathtaking. The way this play tackled mental health was so real, so unpolished, so human. It reminded me that we are never truly alone in our battles.”

“This wasn’t just a story about ‘Matt.’ It was a story about me, about my brother, about my best friend. It’s rare that theatre speaks directly to your soul like this. Unforgettable.”

“I came with no idea what to expect, and I left in silence, just sitting with my thoughts. It’s rare to see theatre capture pain and healing with such honesty. I’ll be thinking about this for a long time.”
