To herald the arrival of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s tour of Hamlet, we are working with costume designer, Amanda Harrold, to create a dress inspired by personal interpretations of the character Ophelia. This will be exhibited at Norwich Theatre from the 10-14 March 2026.

We invite you to create an A5 sized section for Amanda to include in the final dress design.

You are welcome to use any technique you enjoy. Bring along a piece of A5 fabric which you can embroider, cross-stitch or applique. Or crochet or knit a design, or any combination of these styles!

We recommend you use plain, pale fabric, and would encourage you to use upcycled or repurposed materials to help reduce environmental impact.

All abilities are welcome and if you are short of ideas, Amanda will be available during these sessions to offer you a choice and support your creativity. You are also welcome to create something in your own time and bring it along or finish it during one of the sessions, or drop it into our Box Office.
