Rhys James has written his first book, a non-fiction number about dread and not wanting to do things, so it’s sort of mad he’s going on tour to bang on about it. But here we are. These events will be “in conversation” with one of Rhys’s comedy cohorts, but will also include some stand-up, poetry and the chance to get your book signed at the end by the man himself. That man being Rhys.
The book isn’t out until August, but here’s some praise it’s garnered already:
“Relatable tales of adolescent embarrassment, smart takes on modern life, and all the laughs you’d expect from such a talented comedian.” Stephen Merchant
Rhys has appeared on QI (BBC), Apollo (BBC) and Mock (RIP). Rhys’s Radio 4 series Rhysearch was nominated for a couple of awards, and his live DVD Spilt Milk completely sold out in just 94 minutes. There was 1 copy.

“The millennial David Sedaris, the closest I’ve had to stand-up as a reading experience”
Adam Kay“Just like his stand-up, this book is brilliantly written, funny and makes me love him a lot. How annoying.”
Aisling Bea“Hilarious, astute, profound. Make an appointment to read – and for God’s sake, keep it.”
Danny Wallace“God damn Rhys for making me laugh out loud reading a book. Nuanced and hilarious takes on the decisions facing all 30-somethings. Mega funny and sneakily wise.”
