TAMED or It's Hard To Get A Real Horse
This event is in the past
TAMED is a new show that asks – how are we restricted and tamed by the world around us? And how hard is it to get a real horse on a theatre stage?
Made with and featuring the people of Great Yarmouth and based (sort of) on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, an all-female cast reinterpret the central character of Kate, the play’s “shrew”. Who is she really? Is she fierce, frightened, dainty or strong? As five different Kates take the play off in unexpected directions, theatre and the real world start to blur.
Mixing comedy and drama, and playing with text, dance and technology, this show has the town of Great Yarmouth woven right through it. Featuring a chorus of local women, and with sets, props and costumes designed by community groups, TAMED will show you St George’s Theatre in a way you have never seen before.
