War Horse: Puppetry Workshop (10-15)
28 Oct 11:00
Select a performance
Led by War Horse puppetry alumnus Lucas Button, this workshop is designed to offer a hands-on understanding of how to create characters through puppetry and physicality. Suitable for ages 10-15, this workshop offers hands-on experience in creating and performing with puppets. It provides a glimpse into the process of bringing Joey and the other horses of the show to life through the creation and animation of 3D paper puppets.
You will work first independently and then in small groups, learning the techniques of how puppeteers respond to both each other and the action around them to conjure the living, breathing animals at the heart of War Horse.
There will also be a short Q&A session at the end of the workshop, where you can ask any burning questions about the show and puppetry more generally.
Creative Families is supported by the Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust, The Geoffrey Watling Charity, the Simon Gibson Charitable Trust and The Educational Foundation of Alderman John Norman.
