The art of performance in all its forms defines our creative identity and runs across all our output, both for people to watch and to participate in.

We are the largest theatre in the region and this comes with a responsibility to our audiences and the partners we work with to present the very best programme we can.

This means welcoming big touring shows alongside regional theatre makers; celebrating internationalism through music and dance but not forgetting to tell local stories and shared local lived experiences; working with national and international partners whilst supporting creative collaboration in the East. And it means widening our reach to create and connect more audiences with performance.
