Norwich Theatre has some cracking shows this month! We’ve got a Belgian detective, paranormal investigators, comedians, a music legend, and a family show that’s sure to be a treat.
Everybody’s favourite Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, is back on the case in the Death on the Nile (5 – 9 May 26) at Norwich Theatre Royal. On board a luxurious cruise under the heat of the Egyptian sun, a couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder. As secrets that have been buried in the sands of time finally resurface, Poirot untangles the web of lies and solves another crime. You will have to come along and find out.
Are you Team Sceptic or Team Believer, or are you somewhere in between? Come find out for sure with Uncanny: Fear of the Dark (8 Mar 26) at Norwich Theatre Royal. Danny Robins and his team of experts will bring to life accounts of hauntings, apparitions, poltergeists, UFOs and events that seem to defy logical explanation.
Taskmaster loser & Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed returns as his critically acclaimed alter-ego Mr. Swallow with a brand–new show: Show Pony (10 Nov 25) at Norwich Theatre Royal. Mr. Swallow has described Show Pony as “payback for everyone who didn’t come to the last tour” and will cover everything from not having his own sitcom to not having his own sitcom… and everything in between.
At Norwich Theatre Playhouse, Norfolk comedy legends the Nimmo Twins (19 – 30 Aug 25) return with another chance to see last year’s sell-out show – ‘If You Tolerate Diss, Your Children Will Be Next’, PLUS brand-new material in preparation for next year’s 30th Anniversary shows. Expect nylon wigs, male pattern baldness, sweat, Vern and Ken, Anne, Hauswerk, She Go and much, much, less. Also bringing the laughter to Norwich Theatre Playhouse are Matt Chorley (30 Jun 25), Tom Lucy (24 Mar 26) and Tom Rosenthal (23 Apr 26).

Step into the dazzling world of Gypsy (10 – 14 Sep 25), the legendary musical fable that has captivated audiences for decades with local theatre company Sound Ideas. With a brilliant score by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this timeless classic tells the story of the indomitable stage mother, Rose, as she pushes her daughters to strive for fame and glory.
For all those Dire Straits fans out there, do not miss An Evening with John Illsley (4 Nov 25) at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. In this intimate and entertaining evening, John will reflect on his life in music—from the early days of the band to global superstardom and the wild ride that followed.
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s First Encounters with Shakespeare: King Lear (28 – 29 Nov 25), makes Shakespeare’s play about family, power and betrayal relevant for a new generation of theatregoers. This 80-minute version of King Lear uses an edited version of the original play to create the perfect introduction for young people aged 7-13 and their families.
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved Tales from Acorn Wood (11 – 13 Apr 26) stories are brought to life on stage for the first time at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. Packed full of toe-tapping songs, puppetry, and all the friends from Acorn Wood, this beautiful show promises to be the perfect treat for children of all ages.
At Norwich Theatre Stage Two, enjoy an evening with singer-storyteller Gecko (10 Oct 25) his songs cover the big things in life with wit and warmth. Or take your little ones to The Paper Dolls (27 – 28 Sep) and go on a fantastical adventure with a girl and her paper dolls.
