Imperfect Storms: New Work From East Anglian Writers
This event is in the past
Another show of exciting new writing by East Anglian members of the Writers Guild of Great Britain. Between them the writers have credits in TV, film, theatre, radio, fiction, comedy, poetry and video games. As ever the evening promises to be diverse and full of surprises. These are works in progress, fresh off the printer and presented in a rehearsed reading.
Previous shows have featured singing highwaymen, zombies looking for love and a blue-haired Danny Boyle. Two featured scripts are now being developed with funding from the Arts Council, and Kitty Morgan’s musical The Highwayman is coming to Norwich Theatre later this year.
The evening will again be curated by writer-comedian Stephen Keyworth, whose credits include The Princess Bride and The Man Who Fell To Earth for Radio 4, and BBC1’s Doctors. The WGGB have been representing and campaigning for working writers since 1959. Ticket proceeds will enable the Guild to continue supporting writers in the East of England. This showcase is supported by Norwich Theatre’s Creative Development Programme.
“The Writers’ Guild is a bright spot in a dark world, and I feel very grateful to it.”
