Theatre Makers: Next Generation An Actors Approach to Text

13 Sep -15 Nov

Close

This event has passed.

This 10-week project will look at how to effectively analyse text from the view of an actor.

You can expect to explore the imagined world of the play and learn how to find clues about the characters. We will look at character motivations and dialogue subtext whilst exploring and sharing in the magic of theatre. There will be lots of opportunities to act, to rehearse, to try out ideas and see what works and what doesn’t, both individually and as a company member.

Participants are invited to bring along a monologue of their choice to the first workshop, offering a chance to share, connect and begin to collaborate. The exact format of the project will evolve based on the requirements of those who are taking part.

There will be the opportunity at the end of the project to share developed scenes with an invited audience.

Why take part?

This project aims to provide an opportunity for individuals to belong to an empowered community, with increased personal confidence, empathy and self-efficacy.

Open for anyone 18-25 years old.
