Part of Creative Matters – using kindness to connect to yourself, your body, and your communities.

Being kind is about allowing others to feel truly seen and heard. However, we cannot genuinely be kind to others unless we are first kind to ourselves. If we accept all that we both like and dislike about ourselves with compassion, then we can find our true authenticity. We believe that this vulnerable action of compassion and radical self-acceptance is the way to enable change.

Using different art forms and playful experiments, we explore the process of self-awareness and reflection to understand the concept of what ‘being enough’ looks like.

What is it?
A creative space for women to come together to feel seen and heard, to tell their stories and explore how being authentically kind to ourselves impacts our relationships with ourselves, others and our communities.

What will I get from taking part?
A dedicated time in the week to have fun, be curious, creative and reflective about what it means to be you, the stories you believe about yourself and the stories that are put on to you. Through conversation and playing with different art forms you will explore your thoughts and feelings to discover how self-acceptance brings you a greater sense of wellbeing, belonging and happiness.

Who is leading the project?
Women’s Stories is co-facilitated by Jo Reil a Theatre Practitioner and Lucia Fitzpatrick a GP and a Leadership Coach. Their differing expertise and skills come together in a unique collaboration, which they have used to empower women in their Dare to Wonder workshops and in leading Women’s Circles.

Do I need any experience to take part?
This workshop is exclusively for women, with no other requirements to take part.

I’m not sure I can afford to take part.
If this is a barrier to taking part, we have bursary spaces available. To find out if you are eligible go to https://norwichtheatre.org/my-theatre/
