Starting in the New Year, all will ignite their creativity and develop new skills. It is the perfect creative gift for Santa to leave under the Christmas Tree, and you don’t have to fight the last-minute Christmas crowds to get it!
For the new parent: Sing, Dance, Play for Babies – starts 12 Jan – £70 for 10 sessions.
Sing, Dance, Play for Babies is a musical session for parents and babies. It is designed for the parent and their baby to have fun and move together, using a range of musical instruments and multi-sensory props.
These are playful sessions designed for babies who are not yet walking and help to fine-tune their motor skills, develop body and spatial awareness, and improve balance- as well as being great fun!
This session is for babies aged 3 – 18 months. A toddler session is also available.
For the wellbeing gurus: Unwind with Movement – starts 18 Jan – £40 for five weeks.
Perfect for those looking to destress after work, this session uses meditation, gentle dance movements and breathing techniques to help participants unwind.
This is a nourishing, restorative and accessible practice that helps connect the mind and body and improve your overall wellbeing. No experience is needed.
For the curious explorers: Creative Café – starts 8 Jan – £20 for two sessions or £50 for six sessions
The Creative Café is a city-based hub of curiosity, creativity and friendship for people over 65. The group meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at Norwich Playhouse.
Each month, an expert will guide the group through an accessible introduction to a variety of creative topics such as creative writing, movement, music, crafting and many more.
January’s sessions will focus on Movement with Xen Arts. Script Work with Poppy Stevens will follow this in February, and Poetry with Helen Vine will follow in March.
For the writers: Writing Through Motherhood – starts 10 Jan - £45 for five sessions
Writing through Motherhood will provide a space for mothers at any stage in their journey to work on an anthology of words and poems inspired by their experience of motherhood. These sessions will provide ideas and inspiration to support participants in expressing themselves through writing.
No writing experience is needed to take part. Every kind of mother of any age is welcome.
For the dancing queens: Dance Lab – starts 8 Jan – £80 for all 10 sessions.
A session for adults 50+ who are looking to gain new dance and movement skills. Sessions are designed to enhance wellbeing through an exploration of improvisation, physical exercises and choreographic skills.
Participants will take away new skills and ideas for their own dance practice. No dance skills are needed.
For the singing sensations: New Voice Choir – starts 9 Jan – £70 for all 10 sessions.
New Voices is an intergenerational choir that allows participants to learn new vocal techniques and meet new like-minded people in an informal and friendly environment. The group will learn new vocal exercises and techniques, as well as singing a vibrant collection of songs each week.
No previous experience is necessary – the group is open to anyone with an interest in engaging their voice and learning something new!
