We want to hear diverse voices and for those voices to influence our decision making. In turn, we hope to be able to foster deeper connections with our audiences.
The Creative Assembly was established in 2024, bringing together the existing Creative Advisory Group, Young Cultural Leaders with the newly formed Theatre Disruptors, Community Connectors and Associate Company.
Each group has its own focus and brings their own ideas and creativity to help shape the direction of Norwich Theatre. The Creative Assembly will transform decision making at Norwich Theatre and is a vital link between us and communities and neighbourhoods across Norfolk.
This work is still in its early stages and we envisage that this will evolve, as it becomes embedded into our leadership model.

We’re learning as we go. This is new for our organisation and we intend to fine tune this process along the way. We work to ensure that all staff and volunteers are aware of the Creative Assembly to make connections, listen and feedback. We also strive to provide regular updates and opportunities for our audiences to hear about what is taking place and the change that this is making.
The Creative Assembly continues to evolve, with each group serving a term of no more than 24 months before recruiting a new cohort through an application process. This ensures different voices are heard and builds connections with communities.
Senior leaders attend the Creative Assembly gatherings to hear directly from representatives and have conversations about strategic direction and decisions. Updates, questions and reflections are fed through to Directors, Heads of Departments and the Creative Assembly in a cyclical process.
