Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine
This event is in the past
After the tremendous success of last year’s visit from the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, we’re delighted to start our season with the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, led by the leading Ukrainian conductor, Theodore Kuchar.
An exciting programme starts with Rossini’s rumbustious Thieving Magpie Overture followed by a rare performance of Sibelius’ atmospheric and elegiac 4th Symphony. We will start the second half with the much-loved Elgar Cello Concerto performed by the great Czech cellist Jiří Bárta. The finale of the concert will be a selection of Dvorak’s thrilling Slavonic Dances.
