16 May - 01 Aug
Select a performance
Exchange is a new Theatre Makers project aimed at connecting and inspiring creatives of any generation. A chance to meet new people, exchange cultures and even transform perceptions. A welcoming space to share wisdom and new perspectives.
Join Stories in Stitch and explore what shapes the fabric of identity. Over the next few months, we are inviting you to help us create stories that will ultimately form a collaborative piece of work. Stories of community, heritage and lived experience woven through the love of creativity. Each stitch will form part of a story, and each piece of fabric will have a story to tell.
Supported and led by Amanda Harrold, costume designer and maker, you can use any technique you enjoy – embroidery or cross stitch, crochet or knitting, applique or a combination. You might be inspired by a sense of place, choose to embroider a life-changing moment or stitch a timeline. The textiles used could reflect the heritage of family, spanning past and present generations. The possibilities are endless!
This is a celebration of identity, sharing the power of artistic expression at any age, for any generation. All abilities are welcome and if you are short of ideas, Amanda will be on hand to offer you a choice and support your creative self.
If cost is a barrier to taking part, we have bursary spaces available. To find out if you are eligible, go to https://norwichtheatre.org/my-theatre/
