Theatre Cares - A Life in Music
This event is in the past
Theatre Cares brings together individuals with mild to moderate dementia and their carers/partners for engaging and participatory music workshops that spark joy, curiosity and new friendships! Research has proven that music improves the wellbeing of people living with dementia and can be a positive shared experience between loved ones. Join us at Norwich Theatre as we explore music in all its forms, from singing and song-writing, to getting hands-on with drums, chimes, and stringed and small percussion instruments.
This term. we will also be joined by Sandeep Gurrapadi, educator, theatre-maker, and tenor with English Touring Opera on Tuesday 17th October for an exciting one-off workshop based on their latest touring opera, Rossini’s Cinderella!
This project is an exciting collaboration between Musical Keys and Norwich Theatre! Working with experienced practitioners, we provide a safe space for you to feel at ease and connect with your creativity. Workshops are relaxed and set to a leisurely pace with small groups allowing for maximum contact with practitioners. Workshops take place in Norwich Theatre’s Long Bar – a venue that is fully accessible, familiar and calm. The practitioners remain the same throughout the programme meaning you get to see the same friendly face each visit and relationships can be nurtured.
