Unwind with Movement
09 Jan 17:30
For an hour each week, come and wind down from life’s daily stress with meditation, gentle dance movements and breathing techniques.
What is it?
This nourishing, restorative and accessible practice will help connect the mind and body to improve your overall wellbeing, reduce stress and calm the mind. Each week will have a slightly different focus and will support you to connect with your body, express yourself and find your groove.
What will I get from taking part?
Movement can help stress and tension move through our bodies, release endorphins, provide an outlet for self-expression, and strengthen our relationship with our bodies. These sessions are for you to relax, and no experience is necessary.
Who is leading the project?
Unwind with Movement is led by Katie Dunne, the community dance artist and movement psychotherapist.
Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?
No experience is needed, sessions comprise gentle movement exercises that can be explored at your own comfort level.
I’m not sure I can afford to take part.
If this is a barrier to taking part, we have bursary spaces available. To find out if you are eligible go to https://norwichtheatre.org/my-theatre/
I have additional needs. What support is available?
Please get in touch with sam.beal@norwichtheatre.org to discuss how we can best support your needs in the sessions.
“It was exactly what I was looking for, from the way Katie interacted with us to the level of comfort I felt. I enjoyed myself…I would not change a thing.”
“I was taking a shot in the dark coming along…I’m so very glad I gave it a go, I got a lot out of it. I’ve signed up for the next sessions too!”
