With the latest shows going on sale at Norwich Theatre, there are no tricks, just treats. The lineup features a TV cult classic, a former Haas F1 team principal, extra dates for popular shows, and a spooky story that might go bump in the night, so there is sure to be something for everyone.
Due to popular demand, Norwich Theatre’s genie-us Norfolk pantomime Aladdin, which runs between 7 Dec—5 Jan, has had an extra performance added on 8 Dec 24. Smash hit productions An Inspector Calls (21 – 25 Jan 25) and Hairspray(10 – 15 Feb 25), as well as comedians Chris McCausland (9 Mar 25) and Dara Ó Briain (12 – 13 Jun 25), have all added extra performances.
This on sale sees some big names come and visit Norwich Theatre, including former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner, star of Netflix’s smash hit docuseries Drive to Survive Guenther Steiner (29 May 25). Guenther will take the Norwich Theatre Royal audience into the pit lanes and onto the circuits of the world’s greatest race tracks. If you are one of the 60 million listeners to The Blindboy Podcast (15 Jun 25), experience it live at Norwich Theatre Royal. With a surprise special guest at every show, these meditative evenings will seek to replicate a private conversation in a public space through the language of theatre that is unique as Blindboy himself.
Comedy fan? No problem. Norwich Theatre has a large selection of comedians going on sale. At Norwich Theatre Royal, The Horne Section(11 Mar 25) will be providing the musical chaos. Miles Jupp (26 Mar 25) has a story to tell and we bet it will be a funny one! The laughter continues at Norwich Theatre Playhouse with Matt Forde (29 Jan 25), Ray O’Leary (1 Feb 25), Maisie Adam (19 Feb 25), Mark Steel (11 – 12 Mar 25), Richard Herring (18 Mar 25), Angela Barnes (21 Mar 25), Suzi Ruffell (12 – 13 Jun 25), Stephen K Amos (20 Sep 25) and Scott Bennett (12 Oct 25).
For an hilarious take on Jane Austen, check out Austentatious (6 Apr 25) at Norwich Theatre Royal. For one delightful evening only, the all-star Austentatious cast will improvise a hilarious new Jane Austen novel inspired entirely by a title from the audience. Performed in period costume with live musical accompaniment, it’s a riotous, razor-sharp show where swooning is guaranteed.
Matthew Bourne’s award-winning The Midnight Bell (9 – 13 Sep 25) comes to Norwich Theatre Royal. In 1930s London, ordinary people emerged from cheap boarding houses nightly to pour out their passions, hopes, and dreams in the pubs and fog-bound streets of Soho and Fitzrovia. Step inside The Midnight Bell, a tavern where one particular lonely-hearts club gather to play out their lovelorn affairs of the heart: bitter comedies of longing, frustration, betrayal and redemption. If you are fan of dance why not try something a little different and be immersed in the action with Lay Down Your Burdens (28 – 29 Mar 25) at Norwich Theatre Royal. On the stage you will enter pub to join in with the proceedings and participate in the fun and revelry, as much as you like.
Light the beacons! Rouse the villagers! Gather all your courage… for the smash, the cult 90s TV classic Knightmare (24 Apr 25) is back and heads to Norwich Theatre Playhouse. Sidestep left into adventure as dungeon master Treguard brings the Knightmare dungeon back to where it all began.
If getting spooked is your thing, get booking for the stage phenomenon 2:22 A Ghost Story (26 – 31 Jan 26) at Norwich Theatre Royal. This edge-of-your-seat, supernatural thriller, written by Danny Robins, is a adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear.
