Step behind the scenes and uncover the magic of a busy working theatre with our How Theatre Works backstage tour and interactive theatre careers exploration session.

You’ll journey through Norwich Theatre Royal with one of our expert guides, discovering the hidden spaces, untold stories, and real-life workings of a national touring receiving house.

After the tour, you’ll dive into an engaging interactive session exploring the wide variety of careers that make theatre happen. It’s a chance to see the full ecosystem of a modern theatre in action.

What will I get from taking part?

– A guided backstage tour, from Stage Door to the Green Room, Wardrobe, Scene Dock and the Stage

– A closer look at sets, props and costumes from Miss Saigon

– A dynamic careers session revealing the roles, skills and pathways within theatre

– An understanding of how many different jobs exist in the creative industries

Who will be leading the project?

Your session will be run by one of our expert tour guides and members of the Norwich Theatre team, offering real insight from people who do these jobs every day.

What are the timings for the day?

10am Drop off in Theatre Royal Box Office

10.45am-12pm Theatre Careers Workshops

12pm Pick up at Stage 2

Activities are dependent on minimum numbers participating, in the event that we need to cancel due to low participant numbers, a full refund will be given. We are unable to offer refunds in other circumstances.
